Devon Peasant Top - needle and thREAD

Good morning!! Needle and thREADing along with Elizabeth this morning.

This week I made the Devon Peasant Top by SisBoom Patterns (Jen Paganelli).  This is available as a pdf for downloading, and the nice thing is each size has its own pieces to print. So you don't really have to trace anything, just print out your size and cut. Pinning printer paper onto fabric is hard, so you can just use something like soup cans as pattern weights instead.

I have to say, I LOVE this top. The pattern has a kazillion different options from sleeve type (bell or basic), sleeve length, top length, optional ruffles, make it into a dress - you name it.  Instructions very clear and this top is EASY for a beginner. When Alexa saw it, she asked for one for herself - and they do have children's versions as well.  Really cute.  I made the size Medium, but next time I will make a small because its just a bit too roomy and I added a skinny tie belt to compensate.  I made this in Amy Butler fabric (love it).  This is going to be a new go-to top for me, I think it will be fun in a short-sleeve version with a little ruffle.

Check out this version by Monique, which totally inspired me to give this top a go.  Isn't it fabulous?

As for reading, perusing lots of bag-making and quilting books. I also need to start The Secret Garden for Classical Moms class.  And I'm just busy getting excited and ready for Sewing Summit next week.

All for now!! Have a lovely weekend and God bless your sewing efforts!!
