Going silent on Wednesday

So I heard in the van today, while listening to Greg and Jennifer Willits on the Catholics Next Door radio program (XM129), that Wednesday (tomorrow) is Catholic Media Promotion Day. Woo-hoo!!

"World Communications Day 2012 was Sunday, May 20. The 2012 Catholic Media Promotion Day will follow on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24.

On Wednesday, May 23*, we’re asking you to take a one-day break from posting on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest, etc… and use that day to reflect on the Pope’s words about the role of silence in communication and evangelization.

Then, on Thursday, May 24, please share the fruit of that day of prayer and silence with everyone, by posting (here) your answer to the question: “What in Catholic Media has had an impact on me during the past year?”

Join me? You don't have to stop surfing, just don't post or be active on the net.  But then on Thursday, add your thoughts to the forum in the link above.

This means something to me, the ability to use something as simple as an online journal/blog, for the purpose of planting seeds. Seeds that there is more to life than just getting up and going to work, coming home and going to bed. There is more than just the "living." There is Christ, there is hope eternal, there is so much more to be considered in each gift of a new day. And if I can plant one tiny little seed somewhere, then I have allowed God to use this online journal to His glory.
