Bunny hug or hoodie? Or kangaroo jacket?
Where I come from (Saskatchewan), we grew up calling these little jackets bunny hugs. But ... that must only a Saskatchewan thing because when I use that term here, people look at me funny ...
Bunny hug.
The "dimple fleece," or minky, is quite popular but pricey. It was on a 50% off sale at Fabricland, so in the cart it went. If you work with this stuff, use VERY GOOD scissors. I have always used the ergonomic Fiskars, the spring-loaded ones. LOVE them.
The color isn't the best in this photo, but its a beautiful pink. The contrasting knit is a solid pink from my previous stretchy skirt and pants, but it looks red here. No matter, I really like a pink/red combination too! Oh, and the zipper is purple! Alexa loves pink and purple!
The pattern I used is McCalls 6158. I wouldn't say its great for a beginner, but its definitely doable with a little patience. The instructions for the zipper were more confusing than they should have been.
Reading? I finally finished Fatherless by Brian Gail. Stayed up till the wee hours of the night to find out what happens. Well, the entire trilogy is called a tragedy for a reason :(. I really enjoyed it though; it has enriched my faith and inspired me to want to walk ever closer to Our Lord. I plan on moving on to the next one, Motherless.

Yay! Good job! Seeing people sew really nice things gives me hope. Maybe I can sew clothing too one day? Maybe. =) Looks like a bunny hug to me...but I will admit, I had never heard the term before.
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see you call it a bunny hug. That's what I would call it but then I am from Sask. I am not much of a sewer yet but I may have to learn as my oldest is always asking me to help her sew some clothes.
ReplyDeletefabulous job ~ once again :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute name for a jacket--we call our little one Bunny, so this would be a great name for a jacket for her!!
